We’re seeking an experienced Principal Engineer to take a leading role in delivering innovative engineering and technical solutions across a diverse range of projects. This is a key opportunity for someone who thrives on solving complex engineering problems, guiding technical teams, and delivering real-world results in a dynamic environment.
The Opportunity
As a Principal Engineer, you’ll be the go-to expert in your specialist area—guiding project delivery, mentoring junior engineers, and managing relationships with both internal teams and external customers. You'll ensure that technical output meets the highest standards and is aligned with project scope, quality, safety, and performance expectations.
Your Key Responsibilities
Lead multi-disciplinary teams to deliver engineering projects on time and to spec.
Supervise and mentor engineers and technical specialists.
Promote collaboration across engineering and other business functions.
Serve as a technical authority in your area, solving high-complexity engineering problems.
Produce, review, and approve technical documentation including calculations, reports, and specifications.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and best practices.
Support business development efforts, including input into tenders and project estimates.
Drive a culture of continuous improvement, learning, and safety.
What We’re Looking For
Essential
Degree in chemical engineering or a relevant engineering discipline.
Chartered Engineer status.
Proven experience leading teams to deliver engineering analysis and solutions.
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
Track record of successfully delivering projects of varying complexity.
Desirable
Membership of a relevant professional institute or eligibility for registration with the Engineering Council.
Experience managing projects from concept to Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC).
A broad portfolio of experience across commercial or defence sectors.
