We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Scientist - Analytical Chemistry to join a CRO based in the East Midlands. This full-time permanent role combining strategic influence, technical authority, and active laboratory contribution. You will design, execute, and interpret complex analytical studies, supporting process development and technical investigations across diverse client projects in small molecules and emerging modalities. Acting as a trusted scientific partner, you will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure robust, compliant, and high-quality analytical data. The role also entails mentoring colleagues, promoting scientific excellence, and contributing to the growth of the analytical capability within the organisation.
Skills and Experience:
* PhD (or equivalent) in a relevant scientific discipline, with experience in regulated (GMP) environments.
* Broad technical knowledge of analytical techniques (e.g., UPLC-MS, SFC, NMR, GC-MS - experience with all techniques is not required).
* Proven expertise in method development, validation, troubleshooting, and advanced characterisation.
* Strong leadership and mentoring skills, with a track record of promoting scientific culture.
