Principle Software Engineer
📍 Cardiff / Hybrid
💰 Up to £85,000 + annual share scheme + excellent benefits
What You'll Do:
You'll provide hands-on technical leadership across squads, ensuring high standards in architecture, engineering quality, and delivery within a fast-paced, cloud-native environment. Acting as a key technical advisor, you'll shape strategic initiatives, support delivery teams, and champion best practices in frontend and backend engineering.
With a focus on React and NestJS, micro frontends, and scalable DevOps tooling, you'll play a pivotal role in mentoring engineers, aligning technical decisions with business goals, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
What You'll Bring:
Strong experience in a Senior or Staff Engineer role across web and mobile platforms
Deep technical knowledge of React and NestJS, including state management and server-side rendering
Proven success designing and maintaining micro frontend architectures using module federation
Proficiency with cloud-native development in GCP or Azure, including secure and scalable deployments
Strong command of modern CI/CD practices, test automation, and observability
Familiarity with infrastructure tooling such as Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and Terraform
Broad testing expertise across unit, integration, end-to-end, and non-functional testing
Understanding of secure coding practices and web/mobile security principles
Experience mentoring engineers and leading by example to promote high-quality delivery
Desirable: familiarity with mobile development using Ionic Capacitor or Guidewire productsWhy You Should Apply:
