About the Commercial Contracts Role:
Sellick Partnership is currently recruiting for a Principal Commercial Contracts Solicitor (or equivalent) to join a local authority based in the West Midlands. The role is to line manage a sizable team of lawyers, all of whom are dedicated to contracts work. As the Principal Commercial Contracts Solicitor you will lead a team of 7 lawyers, including 1 to 1s, case allocation and addressing any training needs.
Key Responsibilities of the Commercial Contracts role:
The successful Commercial Contracts Solicitor or Barrister will be able to 'hit the ground running' and manage their own caseload of mainly commercial matters:
Experience of high-value contracts - reviewing, amending and drafting
Dealing with internal stakeholders and external clients
Must be able to deal with hurdles in a diplomatic way
Working on standard contracts for goods and services
Advising on new procurement legislation
Advising on contract interpretation and dispute resolution
Candidates must have previous experience as a Team Lead or Principal. This is a large team and needs an experienced manager at the helm.
