Principal Technologist
6mth contract – Hybrid Working
800pd Inside IR35
Role Details:
Principal Technologist, you will be able to bring vast experience of transforming legacy on-premise Government systems into modern Digital and Data Cloud migrations.
You will be leading the work to:
Set the public sector legacy technology strategy and gain endorsement
Identify and develop existing principles, standards, best practice and assurance approaches and promote them
Work with vendors to maximise their offer to UK Public Sector
Help upskill others across UK Public Sector in your work and technology modernisation practices
Agile delivery
Government commercial framework understanding
Experience / Skills
To be successful in this role you will need a strong background in AWS or Microsoft Azure.
Useful to have on premise application modernisation, can range across any technology provider, taking old legacy and repurposing for public cloud
Understand dependencies of operational support and commercial process for outsourcing
End to end lifecycle management and legacy modernisation
Experience of leading end-to-end technology and/or digital service modernisation.
Understanding of sorts of eco systems that need to change
Evidence of being able to present and communicate to very senior, ministerial level people (Director to CXO)
software development experience and software development lifecycle, DevOps, SecOps,
Good understanding of AI and coding assistants
Ideal key technologies, methodologies
