Job Description
This role offers the opportunity to work on significant developments nationwide, covering sectors such as Business, Defence, Education, Energy, Food & Drink, Health, Sport and Leisure, Residential, and Retail. Clients include leading national contractors, developers, housebuilders, major retailers, universities, and sporting organisations.
The Leeds team has built a strong reputation for delivering major schemes. Recent highlights include planning consent for the transformation of the former Core Shopping Centre into the Garnet Exchange, an 800-bed student-led mixed-use development; approval for Cirrus Point, a 45-storey, 705-bed PBSA scheme anticipated to be the tallest standalone student accommodation building in the world; and academic developments for the University of Leeds and Leeds Beckett University, including a new School of the Built Environment, Engineering and Computing.
There is a strong emphasis on learning, development, and career progression. A bespoke, award-winning training programme is in place, combining formal seminars, project-based learning, and one-on-one development. We are seeking applicants who can demonstrate the following:
RTPI-accredited or relevant degree
Full RTPI chartership (MRTPI)
Substantial planning experience across a range of sectors
Strong project management skills, including the ability to manage time across multiple major schemes
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
In-depth knowledge of the UK planning system
Proven experience in leading, managing, and delivering complex planning applications
Strong commercial awareness and client focus
Proficiency in Microsoft 365 applications
Experience mentoring and managing team members
A team-oriented attitude, with a desire to support the development and success of the Leeds office and broader organisation
