Job Title: Principal Air Quality Consultant
Location: Manchester
Salary: £55,000 - £70,000 + Benefits
A leading environmental consultancy is seeking a Principal Air Quality Consultant to strengthen its team in Manchester. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced consultant to take on a senior role, leading delivery of complex air quality projects, mentoring junior consultants, and supporting business growth across the North West.
The successful Principal Air Quality Consultant will be responsible for managing high-value projects across transport, infrastructure, and urban development, ensuring technical excellence and client satisfaction. You will contribute to dispersion modelling, air quality assessments, and reporting, while also taking a leading role in business development and client management.

Duties for the role of Principal Air Quality Consultant include:
Delivering technical expertise in air quality impact assessments and dispersion modelling
Managing client relationships and representing the company at meetings
Reviewing and producing high-quality technical reports
Supporting and mentoring junior consultants
Leading on proposals and business development initiatives
Skills and experience required for the role of Principal Air Quality Consultant:
6+ years' consultancy or regulatory experience in air quality
Detailed knowledge of ADMS, AERMOD, and IAQM/EPUK guidance
Strong report-writing and project management skills
Degree in Environmental Science, Chemistry, Geography, or related discipline
Chartered status (CEnv/IAQM) or working towards it
Full UK driving licence
