We have an exciting opportunity for a Principal Engineer based in Bedford for one of our clients on a Full Time Permanent basis. 

 Summary of the Principal Engineer role 

Salary: £75,000 
Location: Bedford
Type of Contract: Permanent  
Hours: Monday – Thursday 8.15am – 4.45pm Friday – 8.15am – 1.45pm

Responsibilities of the Principal Engineer

Lead R&D initiatives and root cause analysis
Enhance project toll gates
Translate customer technical requirements and specifications
Implement product standardisation strategy aligned with sales
Provide technical support and leadership
Quotation and selection processes for motors and pumps ensuring
compliance with application
Influence specification development
ATEX competency lead in collaboration with Engineering Manager
Requirements for a successful Principal Engineer 

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering
Experience of mechanical engineering design and analysis
Experience of water industry markets
Comprehensive understanding of mechanical engineering principles
Knowledge in pump engineering
Able to interpret drawings and technical specifications
