Private Sector Housing Officer – North West (9-Month Contract)
Rate: £40–£42 per hour
Location: North West, England
Contract Length: 9 months
Start Date: ASAP
We are seeking an experienced Private Sector Housing Officer to join a local authority team in the North West on a 9-month contract. The role will primarily involve:
* Conducting Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS) inspections
* Investigating complaints and enforcing housing standards in the private rented sector
* Taking appropriate enforcement action under the Housing Act 2004
* Liaising with landlords, tenants, and partner agencies to improve housing conditions
Requirements:
* Proven experience in private sector housing enforcement
* Up-to-date knowledge of housing legislation and HHSRS
* Strong communication and case management skills
* Relevant qualification in Environmental Health or Housing
