Job Description

At Avove, we’re proud to partner with Severn Trent to deliver essential water and wastewater infrastructure across the Midlands. This role forms part of our Commissioning team, supporting non‑infrastructure projects across the programme. You’ll play a key role in bringing design intent to life — ensuring new and upgraded assets operate safely, efficiently and in full compliance with regulatory and water quality standards. What will your day look like… * Developing and implementing commissioning plans, test scripts, sequences and acceptance criteria. * Supporting onsite commissioning activities including testing, optimisation, fault finding and performance trials. * Applying safe systems of work and commissioning standards in line with Avove’s business wide framework. * Managing sampling, analysis, data interpretation and evidence collation to demonstrate compliance. * Contributing to commissioning documentation including RAMS, ITPs, handover packs and regulatory submissions. * Participating in design reviews, HAZOPs, commissioning readiness reviews, FATs and site acceptance activities. * Working collaboratively with project managers, designers, operations teams and supply chain partners. About you… * Degree (or working towards) in Process, Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent experience. * Water Hygiene certification and relevant site safety qualifications are desirable. * Strong grounding or experience in process commissioning within the water, wastewater or wider utilities sector. * Good understanding of treatment processes, instrumentation, control systems and water quality requirements. * Awareness of the full project lifecycle and the role commissioning plays in successful project outcomes. * Well organised, safety focused and able to manage multiple commissioning activities effectively. * Strong communication skills with the ability to produce clear, accurate technical documentation. What’s in it for you… * 25 days holiday plus bank holidays * Company Car or Car Allowance * Company pension scheme * Life assurance * Private GP Helpline & Health Cash Plan * Avove Discount Scheme * Family friendly policies * A selection of lifestyle benefit options * Financial wellbeing programme * Employee assistance program for health and wellbeing and onsite mental health first aiders to support our colleagues * We love to give back so we offer you volunteering days in your community and charity matched giving where we will boost your fundraising.
