Process Development Technologist
Are you passionate about food innovation and bringing products from concept to launch? An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Process Development Technologist to join a leading chilled food manufacturer in Leicester.
This role is key in taking approved product concepts through development and scale-up, ensuring smooth launches into full production, while maintaining high standards of quality, food safety, and efficiency.
What you’ll be doing
*
Supporting the transition of new products from concept to launch in line with customer requirements and critical paths.
*
Organising and conducting factory trials, ensuring all raw materials, packaging, and documentation are prepared.
*
Attending pre-production and product launches to support smooth handover to production.
*
Managing trial outputs, including BOMs, specifications, traceability data, and quality standards.
*
Liaising with internal teams (Production, Technical, Planning, QA, Commercial) and external stakeholders (customers, suppliers).
*
Ensuring technical compliance, food safety, and product legality throughout development.
*
Delivering accurate trial documentation, quality standards, and customer samples in line with requirements.
About you
We’re looking for someone with:
*
Experience within food manufacturing (ideally chilled or FMCG).
*
Strong knowledge of food safety, HACCP, GMP, and quality systems.
*
A hands-on, practical approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
*
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects to tight deadlines.
*
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work cross-functionally.
*
IT literacy, particularly in MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
*
A food-related qualification (HND/BSc) and/or at least 12 months’ experience in a process or NPD role (desirable).
