Process Engineer – Maesteg – Up to £45k DOE, plus excellent benefits
Our client a leading Specialist Manufacturer are looking to recruit a Process Engineer for their prestigious site based in Maesteg. The Process Engineer will play an integral part in the driving of continuous improvement and operational excellence across all manufacturing processes. Developing, optimising, and supporting manufacturing processes to ensure they are efficient, high-quality, and cost-effective
Salary: £45k DOE, plus excellent benefits.
Hours of work: 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday

Location: Maesteg
Process Engineer Responsibilities:
* Lead continuous improvement initiatives using Lean methodology to improve manufacturing processes, reduce waste, and enhance efficiency.
* Develop, maintain, and communicate clear SOPs and Work Instructions using known methods or software packages.
* Lead and support Autonomous Maintenance programs by training operators to conduct first-line diagnostics, routine equipment checks, and basic maintenance tasks.
* Collaborate with engineering and production teams to analyse root causes of equipment failures and implement corrective actions.
* Support project teams during equipment installations, upgrades, and modifications with process impact analysis and operator training.
* Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to equipment reliability, downtime, and quality, and report progress to management.
* Optimise Manufacturing Processes Through ERP, collaborating with Planning and Production to define and refine ERP routings, timings, and standard operations. Analyse production data to support process efficiency, accuracy of bill of materials (BOMs), and cost control.
The successful candidate:
* Engineering background with hands-on manufacturing experience.
* Proven experience in creating and writing Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
* Experience administering CMMS software with proven PM creation and upkeep desirable.
* Green Belt certification in Lean Manufacturing or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
* Experience or willingness to use known methods or software packages to develop SOP and WI.
* Previous experience training or coaching production staff an advantage.
