Process Engineer (Water Treatment) £70,000 - £80,000 + Progression + Company Bonus + Private Healthcare + Life insurance Birmingham Are you a Process Engineer from a water or wastewater background looking to join a fast-growing consultancy where your ideas matter and your career progression is a top priority? In this hands-on design role, you'll contribute to or lead the delivery of wastewater treatment projects from concept through to detailed design. You'll be responsible for producing process flow diagrams (PFDs), P&IDs, mass and energy balances, control philosophies, and technical documentation, while ensuring compliance with industry standards and client specifications. In this role you'll collaborate closely with civil, mechanical, electrical, and ICA engineers to ensure integrated, high-quality design. The role also involves mentoring junior engineers, supporting internal training, and participating in technical reviews and client engagement. This is a great opportunity for a Process Engineer with a background in wastewater treatment to secure a long-term position within a growing consultancy that values your ideas, supports your development, and offers a clear path into leadership. The Role: Lead or support process design of wastewater treatment works across feasibility, outline, and detailed design stages, ensuring alignment with client specifications, WIMES, and regulatory standards. Produce and review key documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs, mass and energy balances, process sizing calculations, control philosophies, and Design Basis Reports (DBRs). Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, provide CAD support, participate in design coordination and HAZOP reviews, and support proposal submissions and risk tracking. Mentor junior engineers and contribute to internal training, knowledge sharing, and development of best practices across the process engineering team. The Person: Experience in sewage treatment works. CAD proficient (Process flow diagrams P&IDs).
