Process Engineering Leader - CCUS Start-up - Cambridgeshire (hybrid) - Salary DOE + up to 5% equity
Are you ready to shape the engineering direction of a pioneering climate tech company tackling one of the toughest challenges in industry — decarbonisation?
We’re partnering with an early-stage start-up developing breakthrough industrial decarbonisation technologies, focused on CCUS (Carbon Capture, Utilisation & Storage) and gas separation/conversion systems. This is a rare opportunity to join the leadership team at a company whose technology has the potential to transform heavy industry’s emissions profile.
The Opportunity
As the Process Engineering Leader, you’ll take ownership of the technical roadmap — leading process design, scale-up, and integration from pilot to full-scale deployment. You’ll work closely with the CEO, CTO, and commercial leadership to turn innovation into scalable, commercially viable solutions with real-world impact.
Key Responsibilities:

Define and lead the company’s engineering strategy and execution.

Oversee development and scale-up of novel CCUS and gas processing technologies.
*
Build and mentor a high-performing, multidisciplinary engineering team.
*
Collaborate with industrial partners, universities, and technology vendors.
*
Drive best practice across safety, environmental, and quality standards.
What We’re Looking For
*
Master’s degree in Chemical/Process Engineering (or equivalent experience).
*
10+ years of experience developing CCUS and/or gas separation/conversion technologies.
*
Demonstrable success in scaling clean or process technologies from lab to industrial deployment.
*
Strong leadership, communication, and project management skills.
*
A passion for innovation and building technology that matters.
