iO Associates have partnered with a cutting-edge company in the cleantech industry, specializing in the development of sustainable materials. They are currently seeking a dedicated Process Technician (Chemical/mechanical) to join their innovative research and development team.
Role Summary:
As a Process Technician you will play a crucial role in supporting the scale-up and industrialization of their advanced chemical recycling technology. You will be involved in various aspects of process development, plant design, and working closely with the R&D team to drive innovation in circular economic materials processes.
Responsibilities:
Support the scale-up of technology from laboratory to pilot plant
Assist in developing prototypes and testing new processes
Operate and monitor chemical processing units
Conduct regular inspections and record process data
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
Support mechanical process modifications
Prepare samples for testing
Create documentation including SOPs and training manuals
Ensure compliance with health and safety protocols
Essential Skills & Experience:
A-levels or BTEC in the sciences with minimum 5 years of experience OR HNC/HND in Chemical/Process Engineering with minimum 3 years of industrial experience
Industry experience in process optimization
Strong organizational and time management skills
Excellent verbal and written English
Passion for sustainability and circularity in technology
Located in or willing to relocate to the Bristol area
Ability to work in fast-paced environments
Desirable Skills & Experience:
Experience in advanced materials or composites
Health and safety training (IOSH/NEBOSH)
Knowledge in polymer chemistry and chemical recycling technologies
Background in pressurized systems
Degree qualified in Engineering
Project management skills
