Job Description
Our client, a prominent player in the Defence & Security sector, is currently seeking a Procurement Engineer for a contract position in Samlesbury. This role involves working with cutting-edge military and information systems, with a focus on efficient procurement processes within the organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
Managing procurement activities to support various projects within the Defence & Security sector
Ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing of materials and services
Developing and maintaining relationships with suppliers and stakeholders
Conducting market research and analysis to identify potential suppliers
Negotiating contracts and agreements with suppliers
Ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations
Collaborating with project teams to align procurement strategies with business needs
Monitoring supplier performance and addressing any issues that arise
Job Requirements:
Experience in procurement, preferably within the Defence & Security sector
Strong negotiation and contract management skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Ability to work in a hybrid arrangement with 3 days on-site at Samlesbury
Understanding of procurement regulations and compliance requirements
Proficiency in procurement software and tools
Security clearance at SC level (or in-flight to start)
High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
