Job Description

Account Manager - Fresh produce Kent DOE Love fresh produce? Commercially minded and enjoy building strong customer and supplier relationships This is a great opportunity to join a growing fresh produce business as an Account Manager, managing a key retail account across stone fruit and kiwi. You'll sit at the heart of the relationship between the customer, growers and internal teams, making sure supply runs smoothly while also looking for opportunities to grow the category, improve performance and develop new products. Opportunity to manage a key retail account Work closely with customers and an international grower network A varied commercial role spanning account management, supply chain and category development Opportunity to contribute to NPD and innovation Work alongside experienced teams across commercial, technical, planning and operations Scope to make a real impact on category growth and customer performanceWhat's the Job? You'll be responsible for the day-to-day commercial and operational management of the account, building strong customer relationships while working closely with growers to deliver against customer requirements. Day to day, you'll be: Managing key customer relationships Acting as the main day-to-day contact for the account Working closely with growers to balance supply, customer requirements and commercial objectives Managing volumes, sales and profitability Supporting pricing, promotional and supply negotiations Monitoring service levels, forecasts, availability and waste Resolving supply, quality and service issues Supporting seasonal programmes and promotional activity Using market and customer insight to identify growth opportunities Working on NPD and product improvement projects from concept through to launch Supporting range reviews and category plans Looking at new varieties, formats, packaging and sustainability opportunities Presenting category reviews and growth opportunities to customers Working across technical, planning, operations and wider commercial teams Driving improvements in service, supply chain efficiency and commercial performanceWhat do I need? Experience in Account Management, Commercial Management or Customer Service Experience within fresh produce, food or FMCG A good understanding of customer and retailer requirements Strong commercial awareness and confidence working with sales and financial data Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Strong negotiation and influencing ability Highly organised with good problem-solving skills Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment Proficient in Excel and Microsoft Office A customer-focused and commercially minded approach An understanding of grower relationships, agricultural supply chains or category management would be advantageous.
