(Nat Edington, Chief Executive Officer, Filtronic plc) The Product Assurance Engineer is responsible for ensuring the quality and reliability of aerospace products and systems throughout their lifecycle, from design to manufacturing, and operation. The role will involve implementing and maintaining quality assurance processes, conducting testing and analysis, and collaborating with various teams to identify and mitigate potential issues. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Quality System Implementation: Work alongside the Quality Manager to maintain quality assurance programmes and procedures, aligning with industry standards ISO 9001:2015, AS9100, and any other relevant quality standards. Verification and Validation: Design, execute, and analyse tests to verify that products meet specifications and perform as expected. Problem Solving: Identify, analyse, and resolve quality issues, including product defects, process deviations, and supplier problems. Collaboration: Work with design, manufacturing, and other engineering teams to ensure quality considerations are integrated throughout the product lifecycle. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of testing, analysis, and corrective actions. Critical Systems: Involves working on complex, high-reliability systems where failures can have serious consequences. Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring compliance with relevant aviation and space regulations and standards. Requirements * Bachelor's or higher degree in a relevant engineering field (e.g. aerospace, mechanical, electrical) or the equivalent relevant experience * Proven experience in quality assurance, preferably within the aerospace or related industries * Proficiency in quality control processes, statistical analysis, and testing methodologies * Familiarity with relevant software for quality management, data analysis, and design reviews * Understanding of aerospace manufacturing processes, materials, and systems The above is an overview of the key responsibilities for this role; however, duties may evolve to meet the needs of the business or customer requirements.
