Product Designers & Senior Product Design Engineers
A leading UK-based manufacturer of professional cleaning equipment is seeking experienced Product Designers & Senior Product Design Engineers to join its growing Research and Development (R&D) Team. This company designs, engineers, and produces high-quality products for a diverse customer base.
As part of the R&D team, you will research, design, and develop new products and production systems, as well as enhance existing products to improve efficiency and performance. The role is based in the South West of England, offering a semi-rural lifestyle with access to coastal areas and transport links to major towns and cities.
Responsibilities:

Provide significant design and engineering input into product development projects.
*
Create detailed designs for new and existing products.
*
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the R&D department.
*
Represent the company in meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
*
Ensure adherence to updated processes, methodologies, and best practices.
*
Maintain focus on attention to detail, cost control, and rectification of design errors.
*
Participate in business improvement projects.
About You:
*
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role.
*
Degree or relevant qualification in a design-related discipline.
*
Proficiency in CAD modeling and document control.
*
Understanding of loads and forces in components and assemblies.
*
Experience in product development from concept to production.
*
Familiarity with plastic injection molding, sheet metalwork, fabricated assemblies, and rotational molding.
*
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and construction methods.
*
Ability to produce engineering drawings and design schemes.
*
Experience in designing for both low-cost, high-volume manufacture and low-volume, high-value products.
*
Hands-on model-making skills for proof-of-principle models.
*
Business awareness and experience collaborating across departments and with suppliers.
*
Key competencies: creativity, teamwork, communication, and attention to detail.
*
Desirable skills: Stress analysis, CAS
