Product Development Technician - Electronics Testing and Diagnostics Location: Dartford, Kent Salary: £45,000 plus benefits A leading developer of electronic safety products is seeking a highly capable Product Development Technician with strong hands-on electronics experience. This role requires structured product testing, electronics diagnostics, prototype modification, and detailed data analysis. Minimum Technical Qualifications (Mandatory Requirement) Candidates must hold one of the following qualifications: A Level 3 qualification in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or Mechatronics. A BTEC Level 3, City and Guilds Level 3, or NVQ Level 3 in an electronics or electrical discipline. An HNC or HND in Electrical or Electronic Engineering. A completed apprenticeship in Electronics Engineering. A military technical trade qualification in electronics. A Bachelor's Degree in Electronics or Electrical Engineering is beneficial. Candidates without electronics qualifications will not be shortlisted. The Role The successful candidate will perform structured testing and verification of electronic systems, modules, and prototypes. They will diagnose circuit behaviour, analyse signals, use oscilloscopes and diagnostic tools, build and modify prototypes, conduct research tests, and prepare detailed technical reports. The role supports engineering decision-making throughout the product development cycle. Required Experience Applicants must have hands-on experience with analogue and digital circuits, electronic modules, sensors, embedded hardware, or test systems. They must be confident using oscilloscopes, signal generators, and measurement equipment. They must be able to read schematics, identify faults, and apply logical diagnostic processes.
