Product Manager – Tropical Division Vacancy in Essex
Leo Recruits are in search of an experienced and commercially astute Product Manager for a leading tropical produce division. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in product lifecycle management, sourcing, and category growth—preferably within the fresh produce, food, or FMCG industry.

This Product Manager position is a full-time, site-based role working for a well-established, with over 7 decades of industry experience. With modern facilities and long-standing retailer relationships, this is a fantastic opportunity for a driven professional to lead product strategy and innovation within the tropical fruit category.
About the Product Manager Role:
* Location: Essex
* Salary: £50,000 (Depending on Experience)
* Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
* Hours: Monday to Friday – Office-Based Role (occasional travel required)
Key Responsibilities:
* Produce and communicate daily usage/stock allocation plans
* Oversee product re-inspections and update yield data at consignment level
* Verify QC team reports, scores, and action plans; update internal systems accordingly
* Investigate and respond to customer rejections, ensuring clear documentation and improvement feedback
* Work closely with technical teams on process improvements and staff training related to mango handling
* Act as main point of contact for customer Product and Technical Managers, sharing ongoing quality updates
* Maintain weekly performance reports and service level tracking
* Update systems including QSL reports, Safe Food 360, and internal complaint dashboards
Requirements:
* Experience working in a fruit product management or packhouse/warehouse QC role
* Strong understanding of product specifications, customer expectations, and fresh produce logistics
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Comfortable working in cold environments and physically active roles, including lifting boxes up to 2+ meters
* Ability to work to strict deadlines in a time-sensitive environment
* Flexibility to cover additional shifts during peak periods, holidays, or absences
