Job Description
As a Production Engineer (Electrical Bias), you’ll play a key role in developing, improving, and supporting electrical and control-based manufacturing processes across the facility. You will be responsible for managing projects that involve electrical panels, sensors, wiring systems, and automated equipment, ensuring that all systems operate efficiently, safely, and reliably.
Your role will involve close collaboration with maintenance, design, and production teams to optimise processes, drive efficiency, and maintain high-quality manufacturing standards.
Key responsibilities include:
  * Managing electrical projects across production lines, including panel design, wiring layout, and sensor integration.
  * Leading continuous improvement initiatives using lean manufacturing tools and methodologies.
  * Conducting PFMEA (Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis) to identify and mitigate production risks.
  * Using CAD software to design and update shop floor layouts and electrical system schematics.
  * Supporting the installation, commissioning, and validation of new electrical and automation equipment.
  * Managing suppliers and contractors for electrical and control system components.
  * Ensuring compliance with electrical safety standards, PUWER, and relevant Health & Safety regulations.
  * Providing project management support from concept to implementation, ensuring deadlines, cost targets, and quality standards are met.
Skills & Experience
To be successful as a Production Engineer (Electrical Bias), you should demonstrate:
  * 3–5+ years of experience in a Production or Manufacturing Engineer role within an electrical or electro-mechanical environment.
  * Strong electrical knowledge, including panels, wiring, sensors, and control systems.
  * Experience in lean manufacturing and PFMEA processes.
  * Proficiency in CAD for layout and design work (AutoCAD or similar).
  * Proven experience managing projects from design to delivery.
  * Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  * Competency in Microsoft Office applications.
  * HND or Degree in Electrical, Manufacturing, or Mechatronics Engineering (apprenticeship background desirable).
  * Knowledge of PUWER 98, IEE wiring regulations, and electrical safety standards.
