As a Production Engineer, you'll play a key role in driving production efficiency, ensuring quality standards, and mentoring others. You'll work on complex assemblies, help refine processes, and contribute directly to continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor.
Responsibilities:
Act as the technical lead across all products, assemblies, and production equipment.
Develop assembly and test procedures for new product introductions.
Improve and maintain existing production processes to enhance quality and efficiency.
Design and implement jigs, fixtures, and tools to support manufacturing excellence.
Mentor and train assembly operators, ensuring skill development and consistent quality standards.
Set up and run production lines for both new and existing product ranges.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives, applying Lean and Six Sigma principles to optimise workflow, reduce waste, and boost output.
Skills Required:
A degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline
Experience assembling complex mechanical or electro-mechanical products
Process improvement and Lean manufacturing practices
Jig and fixture design (ideal)
High-level soldering and wiring to IPC standards
Electrical testing and fault finding
Technical drawing interpretation
Confident mentoring and training production staff
Excellent IT proficiency
Driven, hardworking, and detail-focused
Mechanically minded with a hands-on approach
Organised, methodical, and a natural problem-solver
Enthusiastic about quality, process optimisation, and teamwork
