Job Description
Role: Warehouse Forklift Operative
Pay Rate: £13.00 per hour
Reporting to: Warehouse Supervisor / Production Manager
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Warehouse Forklift Operative to join our client's team. The role involves operating a forklift truck to safely load, unload, move, and store goods within the warehouse. You will also be responsible for stock checks, order picking, and maintaining a clean, safe, and organised working environment.
Key Responsibilities
Safely load and unload deliveries using a forklift truck and move stock to designated storage locations
Receive and inspect goods, checking for damage or discrepancies against delivery documents
Accurately store stock, participate in regular stock counts, and maintain correct inventory levels
Pick and prepare orders for dispatch, ensuring all documentation and labelling is accurate
Complete required paperwork and basic data entry (Excel) accurately and on time
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, adopting a "clean as you go" approach and following health & safety procedures
Minimise waste while maintaining quality standards
Work effectively as part of a team, supporting colleagues and the production department when required
Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency
Carry out any reasonable tasks requested by management
Skills & Experience Required
Valid Flexi Forklift Truck Licence (essential)
Previous warehouse experience (ideally food production or FMCG environment)
Ability to complete manual handling tasks safely
Good communication skills (written and verbal) and basic numeracy for reporting
Basic computer literacy (Excel/data entry)
Food Safety Level 2 and Allergen training (desirable)
Health & Safety Level 2 qualification (desirable)
