Job Description

Interim Production / Operations Manager - Bakery 
Mid Glamorgan, South Wales 
Contract: 3-6 Months | Start: January 2026 £400-£500 per day 
We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Production / Operations Manager to support a growing bakery operation based in Mid Glamorgan. 
This is a contract-only interim assignment, focused on delivering immediate leadership, structure, and operational improvement within a fast-paced food production environment while the business recruit a permanent member of the team. 
The Role 
This is not an office-based position. You will be a visible, hands-on leader on the shop floor, working closely with teams to drive performance and support growth. 
Key responsibilities include: 
·Leading day-to-day bakery production operations 
·Stabilising and developing production teams 
·Driving improvements in efficiency, quality, and output 
·Implementing structure, processes, and best practices 
·Engaging teams and leading change in a practical, supportive way 
What We're Looking For 
·Proven experience as a Production or Operations Manager 
·Strong background in food manufacturing or bakery production (preferred) 
·Hands-on leadership style with a strong presence on the shop floor 
·Experience working in growing or changing environments 
·Ability to build trust, influence positively, and bring teams with you 
·Flexible approach to working hours, including shift support where required 
·Ideally based within commuting distance of Mid Glamorgan / South Wales
