Job Description

The Company

Our client is a leading name in several fields of manufacturing, with a major European and UK presence spanning numerous operational plants. As part of the continued growth of the business they are presently seeking a Production Manager to overee manufacturing operations at their Manchester site.

For this role we are seeking an individual with exceptional people management skills to drive positive culture change.

The Role

Production Management

  * Demonstrate outstanding leadership skills

  * Work with the planners to develop an optimised production plan

  * Deliver this plan to the required quality standards

  * Deliver all agreed production KPI’s

  * Manage structured improvement programmes to continuously improve all aspects of production operations

  * Liase with maintenance and other site functions

  * Develop supervisors and operator teams through delivery of training packages

Safety, Health and Environment

  * Management of day-to-day SHE issues such as hazard identification, accident investigation

  * Drive continuous improvement in housekeeping

  * Organise Safety Audits and co-ordinate actions arising

Role Profile

The Production Manager will be a key member of the production team. (S)he will manage the teams on the lines to maximise their output. Key relationships are with the SHE, maintenance and supply chain functions.

Experience Required

  * Experience of production management in a relevant environment such as FMCG, Automotive, Aerospace etc.

  * Strong CI skills using techniques such as LEAN, Six Sigma or 6S.

  * Able to inspire and support the team and give them a clear sense of direction

  * Results oriented Deliver and exceed budget figures.

  * Analytical Able to extract key conclusions from production data

  * Team player Able to build consensus and seek common ground with the production team and between different departments
