About the Role:
An established chemical manufacturer is seeking an experienced Production Manager to oversee and optimise production operations. Reporting to the Group Production Director, you will be responsible for ensuring that goods are manufactured efficiently, on time, within budget, and to the required quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:

Plan, implement, and adjust production schedules as needed
*
Manage staffing levels and material resources to meet production targets
*
Oversee equipment use, maintenance, and procurement decisions
*
Enforce health, safety, and quality standards throughout production
*
Identify process improvements and implement solutions
*
Prepare and analyse production reports and KPIs
*
Lead, mentor, and support production staff
*
Manage production budgets and cost control measures
*
Liaise effectively with procurement, distribution, and other departments
Requirements:
*
Minimum 5 years’ industrial chemical experience (essential)
*
Degree in polymer chemistry or similar (desirable)
*
Strong knowledge of chemical engineering, batch reactor processes, and production tools
*
Excellent understanding of health and safety compliance
*
Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, SharePoint, and MRP systems
*
Experience with quality systems and process improvement (desirable)
*
Strong leadership, problem-solving, and organisational skills
