Production Works Manager - NIGHTS
Based in Telford
Upto £42,500 per annum basic + benefits
We are seeking a manufacturing production works manager to join a leading manufacturer in Telford.
This role is pivetal to the continued success of the production and logistics operation - with the person taking overal control of the works during the night shift.
Key Responsibilities – Night Shift Works Manager
· Lead by example to maintain a safe and efficient workplace at all times.
· Consistently meet company quality standards, ensuring satisfaction for both internal and external customers.
· Establish and enforce production standards to deliver reliable, high-quality service.
· Supervise staff and manage workflow to achieve timely output of manufactured products.
· Drive operational throughput by monitoring performance, meeting targets, and eliminating rework.
· Communicate clear job expectations, plan and assess performance, and develop employees through coaching and mentorship.
· Optimize processes and resources by setting processing variables, monitoring control points, and implementing cost-saving measures.
· Develop and maintain robust reporting procedures, troubleshoot process malfunctions, and foster cross-departmental collaboration.
· Execute production plans by scheduling personnel, prioritizing tasks, tracking progress, and resolving issues in real time.
· Coordinate equipment maintenance, evaluate new technologies, and ensure uninterrupted operations.
· Analyze production data to generate actionable reports, respond to inquiries, and support strategic decisions.
· Design and refine systems, procedures, and controls to enhance efficiency and align with budget and staffing requirements.
· Conduct research to identify process improvements and reduce unnecessary costs.
· Promote a clean, compliant work environment through training and strict adherence to safety protocols.
· Resolve personnel issues by investigating root causes, proposing solutions, and recommending corrective actions.
· Enhance professional expertise by attending workshops and reviewing industry publications.
· Support team objectives by contributing to cross-functional initiatives and delivering results as needed.
Skills for production works manager:
· Must have manufacturing and production experience
· Knowledge of ISO 9001, 14001 & 45001 would be a distinct advantage
· Quality inspection
· Can do attitude
· Ability to work unsupervised
Renumeration package for production works manager:
· £40,000.00 - £42,500.00 (DOE)
Night Shift –
· Hours 20:00 – 06:00 Monday to Friday
