ROLE: Production Manager (PM Shift)
SALARY: £40,000 + £5,000 shift allowance
LOCATION: Telford
THE COMPANY:
Red Rock Recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a successful food manufacturing business. Our client is committed to delivering high-quality products, maintaining the highest standards of food safety and compliance, and driving continuous improvement across the site.
WORKING HOURS:
Shift pattern: 16:00 – 00:00
DUTIES:
* Lead and manage 3 Line Leaders and a team of 20–30 operatives to achieve production targets
* Ensure shift performance meets daily, weekly, and monthly KPIs for quality, efficiency, cost, and safety
* Coach and develop Line Leaders to drive effective communication, performance management, and team engagement
* Oversee employee relations including absence management, disciplinary processes, grievances, and succession planning
* Ensure all records and documentation are completed accurately for full traceability and audit compliance
* Drive continuous improvement in waste reduction, efficiency, GMP, and food safety standards
* Collaborate with technical, engineering, and NPD teams to support product launches, equipment maintenance, and quality compliance
* Ensure production is carried out in a safe and food-safe manner in line with company policies, HACCP, and BRC standards
* Monitor agency usage and labour costs, implementing plans to reduce costs while maintaining output and quality
* Support customer audits, implement corrective actions, and maintain audit-ready hygiene and housekeeping standards
THE CANDIDATE:
* Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar production management role within food manufacturing
* Food Safety Level 3 and HACCP Level 3 (minimum)
* Strong people management skills with experience leading supervisors/line leaders and large operational teams
* Proven track record of driving performance improvements in cost, quality, and efficiency
* Knowledge of food compliance, health & safety legislation, and employment law
* Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills
* IT literate with the ability to interpret KPIs and implement effective action plans
* Flexible, proactive, and able to lead by example in a challenging environment
