Production / Operations Manager

Location: SK16
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, 7:00am – 4:30pm

About Us

We are an established home décor manufacturing business with a strong and loyal customer base, supplying both independent retailers and multinational brands. Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Production / Operations Manager to lead our manufacturing operation.

The Role

Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will take full responsibility for overseeing a busy light manufacturing operation. You will lead a team of approximately 50 staff, ensuring production targets are met, efficiencies are identified, and robust operational systems are maintained.

You will coordinate all aspects of the operation, from pre-production through to logistics, playing a key role in driving performance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Day-to-Day Duties:

  * 

    Oversee daily operations within a fast-paced manufacturing environment

  * 

    Monitor and maintain KPIs and quality control standards

  * 

    Manage staffing levels, including seasonal workforce planning

  * 

    Support, mentor, and develop the management team

  * 

    Ensure production targets, lead times, and deadlines are consistently achieved

Core Responsibilities:

  * 

    Act as the appointed Health & Safety Manager

  * 

    Negotiate and manage maintenance and service contracts

  * 

    Forecast material requirements and oversee stock replenishment

  * 

    Manage staff inductions and maintain the training matrix

  * 

    Lead and coordinate external audits

Requirements

  * 

    IOSH or NEBOSH qualification (essential)

  * 

    Proven experience within a light manufacturing environment

  * 

    Strong background in a Production or Operations Manager role

  * 

    Demonstrable track record of stable and progressive employment

  * 

    Excellent leadership, organisational, and problem-solving skills
