Production Operative

Location: Team Valley, Gateshead
Job Type: Temporary (Ongoing)
Shift Pattern: Rotating 3 Shift Pattern (Days, Nights, Lates)

Pay Rates

  * Day Shift: £12.71 per hour

  * Late Shift: £13.60 per hour

  * Night Shift: £14.49 per hour

The Role

We are looking for reliable and motivated Production Operatives to join a busy manufacturing team in Team Valley, Gateshead. This is a hands-on role within a fast-paced production environment, offering long-term opportunities for the right candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  * Operate plastic injection moulding machines, ensuring all products meet quality specifications.

  * Remove moulded plastic components from machines and carry out visual quality inspections.

  * Assemble products either independently or as part of a production line.

  * Trim excess plastic from moulded components using hand knives while wearing the appropriate PPE.

  * Apply labels and identification markings to finished products where required.

  * Pack products according to customer specifications, following packing instructions accurately.

  * Carry out regular quality checks to ensure products meet required standards.

  * Read and follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions and quality documentation.

  * Complete production paperwork and written records accurately.

  * Support other production activities as required, including assembly, packing, labelling, cleaning and maintaining a tidy work area during quieter periods.

What We're Looking For

  * Previous production or manufacturing experience is desirable but not essential.

  * Good attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.

  * Ability to follow written instructions and procedures.

  * Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

  * Reliable, punctual and able to work a rotating 3-shift pattern.

  * Able to undertake manual handling tasks, including bending and standing for extended periods
