Production Operative

Location: Bargeddie
Hours: 40 hours per week (4 on / 4 off days)
Salary: £37,815 per year + annual bonus + benefits

They now have an excellent opportunity for a safety-focused, proactive Production Operative to join their Bargeddie facility. This role plays a key part in operating fixed plant SCADA systems, coordinating shift activities, and ensuring the smooth, efficient running of the recycling plant.

Role Overview

The Production Operative is responsible for the safe and effective operation of the plant’s SCADA system, overseeing shift performance, managing resources, and supporting production targets. You will lead by example on safety compliance, maintain operational standards, and deputise for the Operations Production Supervisor when required.

Key Responsibilities

  * 

    Safely and efficiently operate the plant SCADA system to achieve production plans and KPIs.

  * 

    Coordinate shift resources, prioritise tasks, and ensure operational continuity.

  * 

    Lead or attend shift meetings in the absence of the Operations Production Supervisor.

  * 

    Champion safe working practices, ensuring compliance with procedures such as LOTOTO and TMS.

  * 

    Complete daily plant checks, defect reporting, and production records.

  * 

    Support onsite recycling operations including picking, baling, and housekeeping.

  * 

    Operate and maintain accurate weighbridge processes.

  * 

    Undertake multi-skilled duties including first aid, fire marshalling, and pest control (training provided).

Skills & Experience

Essential

  * 

    Proven SCADA operation experience in a continuous production environment.

  * 

    Experience leading a small team or shift.

  * 

    Strong communication skills and excellent attention to detail.

  * 

    Competent fixed-plant operator.

  * 

    IOSH qualification.

  * 

    Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable

  * 

    Experience working within the recycling or waste management sector.

  * 

    Mobile plant operation (shovel, grab, FLT).

  * 

    Good IT skills.
