As a Production Operative within our clients manufacturing facility in Washington, you will play a key role in producing the specialist packaging used for their bespoke product. This role focuses on the creation and assembly of the packaging itself—including the forming, printing, sealing, and quality preparation of the packaging components—ensuring products leave the site meeting strict quality, safety and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities
Packaging Production & Machine Operation
* Operate, monitor, and maintain packaging machinery used to manufacture blister cards, labels, and other components.
* Set up machines according to production specifications (e.g., die-cutting settings, sealing temperatures, print alignment).
* Perform routine machine adjustments to maintain packaging quality and efficiency.
* Load raw materials (card, film, labels, adhesives) into machines following correct procedures.
Quality Control
* Carry out detailed visual inspections to ensure packaging meets quality, branding, and regulatory requirements.
* Check for defects such as print misalignment, incomplete seals, material damage, or incorrect cuts.
* Record inspection results and escalate issues to the Line Leader or Quality Technician.
Production Efficiency & Documentation
* Follow daily production schedules and achieve output targets in line with standard operating rates.
* Complete production paperwork, machine logs, and material usage records accurately.
* Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste and enhance process reliability.
Health, Safety & Compliance
* Work in accordance with all safety procedures, including proper use of PPE and adherence to machine safety protocols.
* Maintain clean and organised work areas following 5S principles.
* Ensure compliance with ISO, regulatory, and Energizer manufacturing standards.
Skills & Experience
Required
* Previous experience in a manufacturing, packaging, or machine‑operation environment.
* Strong attention to detail—especially around print quality, alignment, and packaging presentation.
* Ability to follow technical instructions, SOPs, and safety guidelines.
Desirable
* Experience working in FMCG, medical device, or electronics packaging environments.
* Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement (5S, Kaizen).
* Understanding of ISO or GMP quality standards.
