Production Operative / Assembly Operative

Location: Southampton
Salary: £23,492 per annum + commission + attendance/punctuality bonus
Hours: Monday–Thursday 9:00am–5:30pm | Friday 9:00am–2:15pm
Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

We are recruiting for a Production Operative / Assembly Operative to join a well-established global manufacturing business based near Southampton Airport (SO18).

This is a permanent position offering full training, free on-site parking and the opportunity to develop your skills across different areas of the business.

The Role as Production / Assembly Operative

As a Production Operative, you’ll be part of a busy production team, working across the manufacturing and assembly process to ensure products are completed accurately and to a high standard.

You’ll be involved in assembling and preparing products, carrying out quality checks, following detailed work instructions and preparing finished products for dispatch. Full training will be provided, giving you the opportunity to learn different areas of the business and develop your skills.

Key Responsibilities

  * 

    Assembling and manufacturing products in line with work instructions and customer requirements

  * 

    Carrying out quality checks and identifying any issues

  * 

    Operating production machinery and equipment following full training

  * 

    Picking, packing, labelling and preparing finished products for dispatch

  * 

    Ensuring work is completed accurately and to the required quality standards

  * 

    Maintaining a clean, safe and organised working environment

  * 

    Manual handling and lifting products up to 25kg

About You

Previous production experience is not essential. We’re looking for someone who is reliable, hands-on and keen to learn, with good attention to detail and pride in the quality of their work.

Ideally, you’ll have:

  * 

    Previous experience in production, manufacturing, assembly, warehouse or a similar hands-on environment

  * 

    Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions

  * 

    Strong attention to detail and a focus on quality

  * 

    A good work ethic and willingness to learn

  * 

    GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)

  * 

    The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
