Accrington | Permanent Role | Shift Work
Are you looking for a hands-on career in manufacturing with a leading global chemical company? Our client is on the lookout for enthusiastic individuals to join their team as Production Operators.
About the Role
As a Production Operator, you’ll play a crucial role in the shift team, operating manual and semi-automatic plant equipment to transform raw chemicals into high-quality industrial products—like coatings, adhesives, and sealants. You’ll ensure processes run smoothly, safely, and accurately to meet customer demands.
Key Responsibilities
*
Operate chemical reactors and batch processes within a shift team.
*
Follow detailed process and safety instructions, including the correct use of PPE.
*
Handle, weigh, and sample raw materials; set up and monitor processing equipment.
*
Liaise with Quality Control and accurately pack finished products.
*
Maintain detailed production records and documentation.
Who We’re Looking For
*
Any previous experience in a chemical or manufacturing environment is a plus—but not essential; full training provided.
*
Safety-first mindset with respect for handling hazardous materials.
*
Physically fit and able to undertake manual handling.
*
Comfortable working independently once trained.
*
Confident interpreting batch sheets and written instructions.
*
Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
Shift Pattern
*
Current: 24/5 operation, 40hr/wk on 8-hour rotating shifts (mornings, afternoons, nights).
*
Note: Shifts will change in 2026 to 24/7, so weekend working will be required.
*
New starters begin with a 2-week daytime induction before moving onto shift rotation.
