Job Description
THE OPPORTUNITY:
My client is a successful manufacturing company supplying a global market. They need a motivated person with some experience around production planning, an analytical approach and good communication skills to ensure customer demand is met on time in full, material availability and production capacity are optimised and solutions to production issues are found.
This would be an ideal opportunity for someone who has some experience working in a similar role (planning / scheduling / logistics / materials control), enjoys a challenge and feels they have more to offer a dynamic company.
THE ROLE:
In this role you will:
- Develop efficient and achievable production and materials plans
- Update and maintain schedules and have a strong grasp on WIP
- Actively support production, managing and reducing risks and bottle-necks.
- Work closely with production, communicating production requirements and expediting customer orders
- Manage production and WIP targets
- Communicate order status with colleagues throughout the business
- Aim to improve and refine production plans and processes
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS:
You’ll have gained some experience in planning / scheduling / logistics / materials control or a similar area and have a good understanding of manufacturing operations.
In addition you will:
- Be highly numerate with analytical mindset and capability
- Demonstrate a genuine interest in production planning
- Have good communication and influencing skills, able to work at all levels in an organisation
- Have a high level of numeracy, solid IT skills and be confident using Excel as well as MRP / ERP systems.
- Be able to manage your own workload to key deadlines
- Work through pressured situations in a calm and confident manner
- Use your initiative and perform equally well working alone or in a team
