Production Shift Manager The Role:

Are you an experienced Production Shift Manager ready to take ownership of a shift in a busy FMCG environment? This is a fantastic permanent opportunity to join a well-established business based in St Ives, Cambridgeshire, where you will play a central role in driving daily performance, upholding quality standards, and developing the people around you.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Production Shift Manager will be responsible for the safe, efficient, and compliant running of your shift from start to finish. You will lead a team of operatives and team leaders, keeping output on track, waste under control, and the site's high food safety standards front and centre at all times.

Main Responsibilities of the Production Shift Manager:

  * Managing shift performance against KPIs including output, waste, OEE, and labour efficiency

  * Leading, motivating, and developing a team of production operatives and team leaders

  * Ensuring full compliance with safety, hygiene, and health and safety standards

  * Conducting shift briefings, toolbox talks, and performance conversations

  * Driving continuous improvement across productivity, quality, and safety

  * Liaising with engineering, quality, and planning teams to resolve issues in real time

  * Completing accurate shift reports and handover documentation

Skills/Experience of the Production Shift Manager:

  * Previous experience as a Shift Manager, Production Supervisor, or similar in a FMCG environment

  * Proven people management skills including coaching, performance management, and team development

  * A hands-on, solutions-focused approach with a high level of attention to detail

  * Strong communication skills with the confidence to lead from the front

  * Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience (desirable)

  * IOSH Managing Safely (desirable)

Salary & Working Hours of the Production Shift Manager:

£40,000 – £45,000 per annum depending on experience. Shift pattern to be confirmed – full details provided upon application
