Are you an experienced manufacturing leader looking for your next challenge? We are recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturer for a driven and safety-focused Shift Manager to join their production leadership team in Northampton.

The Role
Reporting into the Production Leadership Team, you will be responsible for leading a shift operation, ensuring production targets, quality standards and health & safety objectives are consistently achieved. You'll inspire and develop a team of 14 while driving performance across a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities
Champion a strong health and safety culture, ensuring safe working practices remain the highest priority.
Lead, motivate and develop your team through recruitment, onboarding, performance management, training and employee development.
Monitor team and equipment performance.
Manage the day-to-day flow of production by proactively planning resources
Implement corrective and preventative actions to drive continuous improvement, identifying bottlenecks and maximising plant throughput.
Maintain effective communication between production, dispatch and customer service teams to ensure seamless operations.
Keep shift teams informed of business performance, operational updates and process improvements through effective communication.
Work closely with the Engineering team to prioritise maintenance activities and maximise machine availability.
Partner with Quality and Health & Safety teams to ensure procedures are embedded and compliance standards are consistently achieved.
Lead change positively, encouraging engagement and continuous improvement across your team.

About You
We're looking for an experienced manufacturing leader who can demonstrate excellent people management skills and a proactive approach to operational excellence.
Essential:

  * Proven leadership experience within a manufacturing environment and strong manufacturing process knowledge.

  * Experience managing and developing production teams.

  * Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment.

  * Confident using manufacturing systems and computer-based production software

  * Self-motivated with excellent attention to detail and a results-driven mindset.

Desirable:

  * Lean Manufacturing training or experience.
