About the Role
Our client is seeking a Production Team Leader to join them in a full time, permanent role on a 2-shift rotation. The ideal candidate will be someone with experience running teams of 20-30 members of staff (mixture of permanent and temp employees) and an engineering background as an understanding of quality standards and working to KPI’s off production boards is essential.
Previous experience operating machinery will be crucial in this role as you will be responsible for first off production set up. Any type of production machinery experience will be welcomed as our client appreciates anyone coming into the business will need to be trained up on their specific machinery (CNC Turning, Milling, Grinding, Press Brake, Printing, Paint Spraying/Coating machinery experience will be ideal etc.)
Working hours
* Week 1: 5:30am – 1:30pm Monday to Friday
* Week 2: 12:30pm – 9pm Monday to Thursday & 12:30pm to 6pm Friday
Production Team Leader Experience needed:
* Demonstrable supervisory or people management experience.
* Demonstrable experience of building strong relationships and managing diverse teams.
* Experience undertaking appraisals and performance management procedures.
* Experience of dealing with conflict and disciplinary procedures.
* Ability to work closely with others Team Leaders.
* Intermediate IT skills in MS Teams, Excel, and Word
* Experience in production management.
Key responsibilities for Production Team Leader:
* Performance Management and Training: Conduct appraisals, provide regular and constructive feedback and address performance and conduct issues promptly and constructively with HR support. Identify and promote training and development opportunities.
* Absence Management: Manage sickness and annual leave in line with company policy.
* Ensuring Quality Compliance: Understand and uphold product quality requirements, managing operations according to Quality Plans.
* Overseeing Shift Changeovers: Efficiently manage shift changeover procedures to maintain seamless operations.
* Managing Shift Rotas: Develop and oversee shift schedules to ensure optimal staffing levels for smooth process execution.
* Maintaining Accurate Traceability: Ensure the traceability system is accurate and current, including job sheets, ID recording, and batch labelling.
* Collaborating with Engineering: Work closely with the Engineering Team to address and resolve machine and process issues.
* Monitoring Production Output: Take responsibility for production output and scrap rates during your shift, striving for continuous improvement.
* ISO Compliance: Ensure adherence to and compliance with ISO standards.
* Health and Safety Compliance: Adhere to health and safety requirements, maintaining safety standards at all times in the production areas.
* Objectives/Goal Setting: Establish and agree on SMART objectives for individuals and the team, tracking performance accordingly.
