Job Description

Production Team Leader Role: Production Supervisor Hours: Mon – Thursday 7am till 5pm. Salary £32-36K 5% matched pension UNUM – Critical illness insurance DIS – 1x Annual Salary 20 days Annual leave, plus BH’s and 1 additional day to celebrate birthday. Hours: Mon – Thursday 7am till 5pm. The Production Team Leader is a key role responsible for overseeing a team of production workers, ensuring the seamless and efficient operation of the production area. This leadership position requires a detail-oriented professional with robust leadership skills and an in-depth understanding of production processes. The Production Team Leader will drive continuous improvements within the area through the SQCDP measures, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. Performance Targets: · Internal Quality > 97.2% with improving trend. · External Quality > 99.5% with improving trend. · DOT to Promise > 95% with improving trend. · Productivity >100% with improving trend. Key Responsibilities: Communication. · Conduct structured morning SQCDP meetings and further daily communication with the team to ensure clear communication of targets and objectives. · Build and maintain direct relationships with customers, providing clear communication on all aspects of day-to-day operations. · Escalate relevant issues promptly to the Production Manager. Safety. · Collaborate with the H&S officer and committee to reduce risks in the area through effective risk assessments. · Ensuring Safe working environment for staff. (Safety Controls Audits) · Ensure a safe working environment through regular safety controls audits. · Investigate accidents and enforce all safety controls (method statements) in the area. · Conduct return-to-work interviews to ensure the fitness of staff returning after absence. Quality. · Carry out full Investigations and provide clear accurate responses to Customer Concerns in a professional and timely manner, ensuring delivery of the below Service Level Agreement. (SLA) o Acknowledgement of complaint in 12hrs o Containment in 24hrs o Corrective Actions in 48 hrs. o Root cause definition 10 days (with evidence i.e. 8D) · Ensuring accurate internal data capture and the daily Logging and Recording reject data within the QA System · Conduct audits to ensure all work in the area meets company standards. Cost. · Implement actions to reduce or mitigate off-track hours against the visual plan. · Accurately record planned downtime, including classroom training and project time. · Ensure team engagement with targets and objectives. · Validate and approve production hours in the ERP system. · Constantly strive for productivity gains through VA activity and removal or 8 wastes Delivery. · Develop a visual plan for the team aligned with the work-to-list, outlining expectations for each team member. · Advocate for the customer and uphold the promised delivery date. · Keep customers and systems fully updated on any delays and expected planned dates. · Coordinate with other departments to address exceptions. People. Managing Staff Performance through the QCD measures to achieve and then to improve company standards. · Rewarding and Recognizing Good Performance (Switched On) · Optimize Workgroup efficiency through effective time/attendance management by conducting RTW’s (Return to Work Reviews) and absence review meetings in accordance with Company policies and procedures. · Identifying coaching need of Poor Performance, setting Smart targets (Coaching for Excellence) · Identifying other coaching need and opportunities setting Smart targets (Coaching for Excellence, PDR) · Maintain company standards by dealing with conduct issues in an effective and timely manner. Lead by example through the promotion of Company values, standards, policies and procedures. Managing Process Performance through the SQCDP measures to achieve and then to improve company standards. · Engage team in Ci activities, Kaizen, 5S and problem-solving activities (Project Charters, Challenge Zero) Working with the Production Manager to identify skill Gap’s on the Versatility Matrix that may affect our ability to achieve our commitments, that should form part of their: · PDR process and/or Training and Development Plans · Onboarding Plans For an informal confidential chat please call Mark on (phone number removed)
