Job Description

As a Production Technician at Honeywell, you are responsible for the safe and efficient operation of automated manufacturing processes. They operate, maintain, and troubleshoot production equipment, using lean manufacturing principles to maximise efficiency and minimise down time, while ensuring products meet quality standards. Duties include following production schedules, monitoring processes, planned maintenance, and ensuring safety procedures are followed as the highest priority. You will report directly to our Manufacturing Engineer Supervisor and you’ll work out of our Southend, UK location on a On-site work schedule. Key Responsibilities * Operating and maintaining production equipment: This involves setting up, operating, and troubleshooting equipment to ensure it runs efficiently. * Following production schedules: They need to adhere to production schedules and deadlines to meet production goals. * Optimise production output: Engage with the continuous improvement agenda, seek out new opportunities and take an active role in activities to improve yield and OEE. * Monitoring production processes: Production technicians monitor processes, adjust as needed, and identify potential problems. * Performing quality control checks: Are attentive to detail and strive to ensure products meet quality standards, through inspections, testing and analysis. * Troubleshooting equipment and process issues: They identify and resolve technical problems with equipment and processes. * Performing routine maintenance: They perform regular planned maintenance tasks on equipment to prevent breakdowns and keep it in good working order. * Ensuring safety procedures are followed: Adhering to safety protocols and ensuring a safe work environment. * Keeping accurate records: Maintaining accurate records of production activities, equipment maintenance, and quality control data. * Collaborating with other departments: Working with other departments, such as quality control and engineering, to improve production processes. * Maintaining a clean and organized work area: Keeping the workspace clean, safe, and organized to ensure efficiency and safety. Key skills and qualifications * Must have experience of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, in a technical role or similar. * Industry led qualifications in electrical and/or mechanical engineering principles. * Technical aptitude – Strong understanding of machinery, equipment, and manufacturing processes is crucial. * Proficiency in use of computer systems. Good numeracy skills.
