Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for a Programme Manager to join Suffolk Council's Drug & Alcohol Service on an initial 3-6 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Suffolk County Council’s Public Health & Communities Directorate is seeking a strategic and experienced Programme Manager to lead delivery of the local response to the Government’s 10-Year Drug Strategy. This role will be central to coordinating services, driving system improvements, and improving outcomes for people affected by substance misuse across Suffolk.
Key Responsibilities:

Oversee delivery of the Drug and Alcohol Community Treatment Contract and associated improvement plans
*
Lead activity and partnership engagement in support of the national Drug Strategy through the Combatting Drugs Partnership
*
Identify and implement evidence-based interventions to improve outcomes for individuals with alcohol and drug dependency
*
Use local data, intelligence, and service feedback to inform priorities, commissioning decisions, and programme activity
*
Build and maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including NHS, voluntary sector, community safety, and public health teams
*
Contribute to budget management, performance reporting, and delivery of strategic objectives
*
Support and influence wider public health initiatives, aligned with reducing health inequalities and promoting safer communities
About You:
You will bring significant experience of managing complex public health or local authority programmes, ideally related to substance misuse, health improvement, or community wellbeing. You’ll have strong leadership and project management skills, a collaborative mindset, and the confidence to influence system-wide change.
