Job Title: Progress Partner (SEN Teaching Assistant)
Hours: 38.5 hours per week
Contract type: Full-time, permanent
Responsible to: Headteacher
Location: London CR5
(Note: No staff parking onsite – shuttle service provided nearest station)
Main Purpose of the Role
Support high levels of progress and achievement for all pupils.
Assist the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) in driving improvements in teaching, learning, and assessment.
Develop and maintain systems to measure Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) regularly.Key Responsibilities: Teaching, Learning & Assessment
Deliver learning activities to individuals and groups under supervision.
Contribute to planning and preparation of learning activities.
Provide teachers with feedback and reports on pupil progress.
Attend and participate in training/in-service sessions.
Promote inclusion and equality for all pupils.
Support pupils’ physical, emotional, and behavioural needs, encouraging independence.
Uphold school policies, safeguarding, and health & safety standards.
Participate in multi-agency meetings where required.
Liaise with parents/carers on learning support and welfare issues.Collaboration & Partnerships
Work with staff and external agencies to support teaching and learning.
Contribute to the School Development Plan.
Support SLT initiatives and attend team meetings.
Assist in school operations, including offsite activities.General Duties
Follow school policies and health & safety legislation.
Use IT systems effectively.
Engage in performance management and professional development.
Provide services in line with the school’s high-quality standards.
Promote equal opportunities in all areas.
Complete admin tasks and attend school meetings.
Undertake additional duties as required.
Maintain excellent attendance, punctuality, and professional conduct.
Be physically fit and willing to undergo positive handling training and apply de-escalation techniques if required.Person Specification Essential
GCSE English & Maths (Grade C or above, or equivalent).
Excellent communication skills (oral & written).
Experience working with young people in a school setting.
Flexible, adaptable, and team-oriented.
Strong IT skills, including ability to use data systems.
Ability to motivate colleagues and learners positively.
Good interpersonal skills, able to build effective relationships.
Commitment to inclusive education and the ethos of the school.
Good organisational skills and ability to prioritise competing demands.
Excellent attendance and punctuality.Desirable
Level 2 or 3 Certification in a specific subject area.
Ability to interpret and present data to different audiences.
Understanding of SEND (Special Educational Needs & Disabilities) developments.
Experience in establishing systems/procedures for school improvement.Job Type: Full-time
