Job Description

Project Accountant Location: Remote (occasional office attendance) Pay Rate: £26.44 per hour Contract: Temporary until end of March 2026 (potential to extend) Start Date: ASAP Join an Experienced Team as a Project Accountant Are you an experienced finance professional ready to make an immediate impact? We’re seeking a Project Accountant on behalf of one of our valued clients, with an immediate start available. This is a temporary position running until the end of March 2026, with the possibility of extension. You’ll work remotely, only attending the office when required (on rare occasions). The role requires someone who can hit the ground running, manage their own workload effectively, and contribute their expertise with minimal supervision. What’s In It for You • £26.44 per hour • Primarily remote working (office attendance only when needed) • Opportunity to lead and support major financial and business projects • Involvement in budgeting, planning, and performance reporting at an organisational level • Exposure to senior stakeholders and decision-makers • Potential for contract extension beyond March 2026 Key Responsibilities • Lead and coordinate the detailed budget setting process across business areas for Board approval • Provide accurate financial reporting, including medium- and short-term forecasts and a 5-year forward funding outlook • Align financial performance with operational performance for reporting to the Board and Executive Team • Support and manage multiple accounting projects across the organisation • Oversee areas such as core business reporting, time recording, and budget realignment • Analyse and interpret complex financial information, explaining the impact of budget adjustments and project decisions • Work with stakeholders to provide accurate financial insight, forecasting, and assurance • Contribute to corporate planning, performance, and compliance activities across the organisation • Offer high-level financial and technical advice to support strategic decision-making • Identify and manage financial and reputational risks • Authorise invoices and procurement in line with internal procedures About You To succeed as a Project Accountant, you’ll bring: • A recognised accountancy qualification (or significant experience in an equivalent accounting role) • A proven track record in project and financial accounting • Agresso experience (essential) • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting • The ability to work independently with minimal supervision • Confidence in managing competing priorities and deadlines Ready to Start?
