Job Description

Morson Edge are working with a well know Consultancy who are seeking a Project Commercial Manager to join their Water/Utilities division. 
 
Role - Project Commercial Manager 
Location - Peterborough 
Salary - £70k to £90k + Bens 
Ideal background - Water/Utilities if preference but the client will consider people from Civils or infrastructure. 
 
Key responsibilities: 
- Ensure robust estimates are provided that are aligned to scope and makes due allowance for all risks and opportunities. 
- Manage the procurement process ensuring that all strategies are developed and agreed and that tender processes are followed correctly. 
- Subcontractors are properly managed in accordance with contract requirements including: compliance, communications, payments, compensation events and programme submissions. 
- Ensure robust cost management is undertaken at all times including: accurate live forecasting and actual costs vs estimates. 
- Ensure that accurate and trusted records are kept so that all financial information for audits and cost assurance is readily available. 
- Continually strives to develop processes and procedures to ensure standardisation across the commercial teams delivery process 
- Looks to develop members of the team with commercial knowledge and experience gained over numerous years in industry. 
 
About The Candidate: 
- Educated to Degree/HNC level or equivalent. 
- RICS/CIOB/CICES 
- Delivery of multiple and or complex projects ranging in values from £100k to multi-million pound projects with experience of the following: 
- Managing/Leading a team 
- Contract administration (working with NEC suite of contracts) 
- Managing change 
- Procurement 
- Risk and opportunity management 
- Negotiation 
- Estimating 
- Stake Holder management

- Acts as the commercial conscience of the IPL, challenges delivery team 
- Operates fairly, honestly and with integrity 
- Champions collaboration and open communication 
- Value for Money' mentality 
- Takes ownership and leads with a strong commercial focus on outperformance and contractual requirements, showing an ability to work under pressure whilst supporting the team 
- Positive forward thinking decision maker with the skills to proactively manage the project and the commercial team. 
- Capable of building strong personal relationships through a supportive empathetic style to enable the formation of high performing teams - Listens, understands and adjusts 
- Strategic thinker with the ability to create strong relationships with key stakeholders within the organisation and to influence decision making. 
- Creates drive and momentum to deliver
