Morson Talent are working with a major player in the Energy Sector who have a current CONTRACT requirement for a Project Controls Engineer to join their established Project Delivery team in Somerset. Hybrid working arrangements apply for this position – 3 days office attendance at the Somerset Energy & Innovation Centre and 2 days worked remotely/from home. Broad Scope
The Integrated Project Controls (Project Controls) team, aims to act as a centre of excellence for project controls implementation.
The Project Controls Team are the intelligent owners of the single source of delivery performance information operating as an integrated enabler for the successful delivery of the Project.
Principal Accountabilities Team:
Produce and maintain accurate forecasts and Project Controls data in alignment with the Cost Breakdown Structure or Work Breakdown Structure (CBS/WBS)
Accurately maintain all Project Controls data for their area of responsibility within the Project Controls software systems e.g. Ecosys, P6, ARM etc.
Co-ordinate and produce Project controls reports to a defined reporting cycle, including commentary on key time-related drivers and performance issues
Assist in the Trend & Change process, including analysis at Project level, generating performance indicators and providing feedback on areas of risk and opportunities.
Delivers clear and concise insights to support robust decision-making utilising commercial and technical information to influence decisions.
Analytical support for Project Controls Managers and Senior Project Controls Engineers through robust analysis and interpretation of technical, financial, and performance data to facilitate prioritisation and any necessary actions.
Applying fundamental project and business project controls principles and interfaces with wider management processes.
Help promote and embed a culture of good governance, risk awareness and compliance across the organisation. Support the education of project controls reporting functionality and provide feedback and recommendations for improvement.

Effectively communicates complex issues and concepts (unique insights) in simple ways, to both technical and non- technical audiences.

Qualifications & Experience
Minimum of HND or equivalent qualification in project management, project controls, engineering, or another related field
Proven experience of Project Controls including the tools and a variety of techniques used to deliver project insight and assess performance

The jobholder may be expected to have an ability to use, the any of the following (or similar equivalent) software tools:
Primavera P6 (Scheduling).
EcoSys (Cost, Change, EVM)
Microsoft Office software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access)
ARM (Risks, Opportunities, Trends).
@risk (QCRA).
Safran (QSRA).
Adobe Professional (Report Publishing).
