Project Design Engineer - Permanent Role Desborough | £45,000 - £50,000 Working Hours | Mon-Thu 8:30-17:00, Fri 9:30-17:00 Our client, an established manufacturing company are looking for two experienced Project Design Engineers to add to their team. Reporting to the Head of Projects you will be responsible for the engineering and technical disciplines required to complete projects. The successful candidate will have worked as a Project Design Engineer for an extensive period of time and will be well versed in the world of manufacturing. The Role The Project Design Engineer will see through each project from the design stage to project completion covering the following areas. Understanding the concept of customers machinery requirements to produce technical drawings in both 2D and 3D Undertake other drawing work for the engineering department. To use Solidworks and AutoCAD as the main design platforms Full engineering integration of the business's in-house products such as conveyors, structures and ancillary products. To ensure design, quality, costings and time-scales are considered and adhered to throughout the project. To work closely with other company departments including manufacturing, engineering and sales to ensure that designed products meet the requirements of the business and customers. Be hands on proactive and own the development of the project from the initial design concept stage right through to manufacturing, testing and commissioning Liaise with customers to ensure standards match project expectations. To attend site as and when necessary to ensure fluidity of a project. Create and release the BOM's using the company MRP System. Produce and maintain technical documents for both the Engineering and Sales Departments. Define product technical specifications for both internal design standards and mandatory industry standards. Work on continuous improvements of existing products and processes. The Person To be considered for this role you will be an experienced Project Design Engineer who has worked with designing capital or special purpose machinery and who is familiar with sheet metal structural and fabrication design and will have the following HNC or equivalent in a mechanical / manufacturing engineering subject Fully proficient in AutoCAD and Solidworks (GA, Design and Detailing) Experience in sheet metal and fabricated product design (essential) Basic knowledge of Electrical Engineering Have excellent communication, organisational and problem solving skills Be creative and innovate with the desire to improve continuously Be confident in decision making Be used to managing costs and BOM's Have knowledge of ERP / MRP systems.
