Project Director - Major Infrastructure / Tunnelling Project (Denmark) We're partnering with a leading international contractor to appoint a Project Director for a landmark tunnelling project in Denmark. This is a rare opportunity to take end-to-end leadership of one of the country's most technically and socially significant infrastructure schemes. From day one, you'll play a central role in leading a complex tunnel construction project that will help protect the city's future infrastructure. You'll oversee all aspects - from tender design and planning to execution and final delivery - scheduled for completion over the coming years. You'll join an ambitious and collaborative team where professionalism, integrity, and cooperation are key values. Key Responsibilities Provide strong, people-focused leadership Set direction, motivate your team, and foster a culture of collaboration and excellence across all project functions. Own the project lifecycle Lead the process from tender to handover, ensuring smooth coordination between client, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams. Drive strategic and operational delivery Oversee progress, quality, safety, and financial performance, balancing high-level vision with attention to detail. Build strong relationships Develop trust-based partnerships with key stakeholders - clients, consultants, subcontractors, and authorities - ensuring open communication and value creation throughout the project. About the Project A long-term infrastructure development focused on improving the city's resilience and sustainability. The project involves a large-scale tunnel system extending several kilometres beneath the city, designed to manage future environmental and urban challenges. Your Profile 15+ years' experience managing complex, large-scale civil or infrastructure projects (ideally tunnelling or similar heavy construction). Proven track record leading multidisciplinary project teams through planning, execution, and delivery. Strong leadership and communication skills, capable of inspiring commitment and teamwork at all levels. Experience working in international environments, fluent in Danish and English (spoken and written). Skilled in stakeholder management, facilitation, and conflict resolution, with the ability to lead collaboratively in a complex, multi-partner setup. Solid technical understanding of large infrastructure construction, particularly within tunnelling or underground works.
