Job Description

Civils Design Engineer – Stansted – 3-6 Month Contract (40 hours per week) - £450 - £550 per day (Inside IR35)

  * Our client is seeking experienced Project Engineers to support the Project Manager in the delivery of multiple projects across both design and on-site execution phases. The ideal candidate will bring strong fit-out experience and a background in aviation or similarly complex operational environments.

  * They are seeking a highly capable Project Engineer to support the Project Manager in delivering the SkyLinks and APV projects at Stansted. The role requires a strong civils background, particularly in groundworks and piling.

Working Patterns and location – This role is hybrid with 3 days per week on site and the rest Remote

The Key Responsibilities of a Civils Design Engineer:

  * Lead design management activities and ensure alignment with project requirements

  * Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations

  * Identify and report defects and non-conformances; track and manage close-out actions.

  * Provide technical expertise on construction methodologies and techniques.

  * Review RAMS, Construction Phase Plans, CEMP, and other contractor documentation.

  * Advise on potential Early Warning Notices (EWNs) and Compensation Events (CEs), and support validation of contractor claims.

Below is a list of Key Skills required for a Civils Design Engineer, however you will not be expected to have everything:

  * Chartered Engineer (ICE), Civil Qualifications including structures.

  * Proven experience in fit-out projects, ideally within aviation or transport infrastructure.

  * Strong understanding of design coordination and document control systems (e.g., Aconex).

  * Ability to manage technical reviews and resolve design-related queries..

  * Willingness to be based on-site at Stansted Airport up to three days per week.

  * Strong background in civil engineering, including groundworks and piling.

  * Familiarity with heavy lifting operations and associated safety protocols.
