Role Overview
Senior Project Engineer joined a global lab tech firm in Chelmsford. Lead mechanical design in an Agile, highly regulated medical environment, driving products from concept to compliance.
Key Responsibilities
Design: Develop medical mechanical systems meeting customer/business needs.
Documentation: Create prototype/tooling drawings; maintain ISO 9001 and regulatory compliance.
Testing: Lead testing strategies, guide engineers, and iterate designs via data analysis.
Leadership: Act as team ambassador; manage backlogs and project dependencies.
Strategy: Identify high-value innovations for the technology roadmap.
Quality: Technical root cause analysis and risk assessment for field complaints.
Requirements
Education: BSc Mechanical Engineering.
Experience: Strong track record in mechanical New Product Development (NPD).
Technical: SolidWorks (preferred); phase-gate processes (DFM, FMEA, ISO 9001).
Skills: Project management, cross-functional leadership, and Agile/Six Sigma (plus).
